Problem: How do I create flashcards? (web)
Solution: Hi,
Creating flashcards is simple:
- Tap the "New Deck" button in the sidebar
- Upload your document (PDF, PowerPoint, or take photos)
- Select the pages you want to include
- Choose a name for your deck
- Select your preferred language for the output
- Tap "Create Deck"
The AI will automatically generate flashcards from your content. This usually takes a few minutes depending on the document size.

flashcards_not_generating
Problem: My flashcards are not generating / stuck loading
Solution: Hi,
I'm sorry you're experiencing issues with flashcard generation. This usually happens for one of these reasons:
Most common cause: Password-protected file If your PDF or document is password-protected, our AI can't read it. Please remove the password protection and try uploading again.
If file is not password-protected: Please try re-uploading your document. In most cases, a fresh upload resolves any processing issues.
Steps to fix:
- Delete the stuck deck (swipe left and tap Delete)
- Make sure your file is not password-protected
- Re-upload and create a new deck
If the problem persists after re-uploading, please let me know and I'll investigate further.

missing_deck_or_flashcards
Problem: My flashcards/deck disappeared or I can't find them
Solution: Hi,
If your flashcards or deck seem to have disappeared, please check the following:
- Correct account: Make sure you're logged in with the same email address you used when creating the deck. If you used "Sign in with Apple" or "Sign in with Google," make sure you're using the same method.
- Sync delay: Try signing out and signing back in to force a sync.
- Check all workspaces: Your deck might be in a different workspace than expected.
If you've verified all the above and still can't find your deck, please let me know and I'll help investigate further.

Problem: I can only create one deck / need upgrade for more

With the free version of Studyflash, you can create one deck to try out the app. To create additional decks, you'll need to upgrade to a premium subscription.
Free tier includes:
- 1 deck
- Basic flashcard learning
Premium includes:
- Unlimited decks
- Quizzes
- Summaries
- Mindmaps
- Podcasts
- AI tutor Max
If you'd like to upgrade, you can do so in the app under Account > Subscription.

add_document_to_existing_deck
Problem: Can I add more documents to an existing deck?
Solution: Hi,
Currently, you cannot add additional documents to an already created deck. Each deck is generated from the documents uploaded during its creation.
Workaround options:
- Merge documents first: Before uploading, merge your documents into a single file, then create one deck from the combined file.
- Create a new deck: Upload the additional document as a new, separate deck.
- Use courses: Organize related decks into the same course to keep them together.
We've shared this feedback with our product team as it's a commonly requested feature.

Problem: How do I delete individual flashcards within a deck?

That's very easy:- On mobile, swipe the card to the left- On web, hover over it and click on the bin

too_few_flashcards_generated
Problem: Only a few flashcards were generated from my large document
Solution: Hi,
I'm sorry the number of flashcards doesn't match your expectations.
Try these solutions:
- Re-upload the document and try generation again - sometimes the first attempt doesn't process fully
- Adjust the "depth" setting to "Detailed" for more flashcards
- Make sure the document isn't mostly images - text-based content generates more flashcards
Note: Documents with lots of images, charts, or non-text content may produce fewer flashcards since the AI primarily extracts from text.
If re-uploading doesn't help, please let me know and I'll investigate further.

flashcards_show_wrong_content
Problem: My flashcards show incorrect or garbled text / formatting issues
Solution: Hi,
I'm sorry the flashcard content doesn't display correctly. This can happen with:
- Mathematical formulas or special characters
- Complex formatting from the source document
- Images that weren't processed correctly
To fix this:
- Try re-uploading the document
- If the issue persists, you can manually edit the affected flashcards to correct the text
- For documents with lots of formulas, consider using a cleaner PDF format
To edit a card, open the deck and tap the edit icon on the card with issues.

deck_stuck_after_creation
Problem: I created a deck but nothing happens / can't access it
Solution: Hi,
If your deck was created but you can't access it or nothing happens:
Try these steps:
- Close the app completely and reopen it
- Check your library - the deck might be there but not on the home screen
- Try re-uploading the document to create a fresh deck
If the deck appears stuck:
- Swipe left on the stuck deck to delete it
- Re-upload your document
- Create a new deck
Occasionally during high traffic, some generations can get stuck. A fresh upload usually resolves this.

reset_deck_progress
Problem: How do I reset my learning progress for a deck?
Solution: Hi,
Currently, there's no direct "reset progress" button, but you can achieve the same result by either clicking on repetition or:
- Re-upload your document
- Create a new deck
This will give you a fresh deck with no learning progress tracked.

multiple_files_upload
Problem: Can I upload multiple files to create one deck?
Solution: Hi,
Currently, you can only upload one file per deck. To include content from multiple files in one deck:
Workaround:
- Merge your files into a single PDF before uploading
- You can use free online tools or your computer's print-to-PDF function to combine files
- Then upload the merged file to Studyflash
Alternatively, you can create separate decks for each file and organize them in the same workspace.

images_in_flashcards
Problem: The images in my flashcards don't match / are wrong
Solution: Hi,
I'm sorry the images in your flashcards don't match the content. Our AI does its best to pair images with relevant content, but it can sometimes make mistakes.
To fix this:
- You can manually edit flashcards to remove or adjust image references
- Re-uploading the document might produce better results
- For documents with many images, the AI may have difficulty matching them correctly

cannot_save_deck
Problem: I can't save my deck after uploading
Solution: Hi,
If you can't save your deck after uploading a file:
Most common cause: Password-protected file Please check if your PDF is password-protected and remove the protection before uploading.
Other things to try:
- Make sure you've entered a deck name
- Try a different file format (convert to PDF if using another format)
- Close the app and try again
- Re-upload the file

Problem: Can I still access my flashcards if my subscription ends?

When your premium subscription ends:
What you keep:
- Access to your existing decks and flashcards
- Basic flashcard learning mode
What you lose access to:
- Creating new decks (beyond the 1 free deck limit)
- Quizzes
- Podcasts
- Summaries
- Mindmaps
- AI tutor Max
Your content and learning progress are not deleted. You just won't be able to create new content or use premium learning features until you resubscribe.

flashcard_editing
Problem: How do I edit a flashcard?

To edit a flashcard:
- Open the deck containing the card
- Find the card you want to edit
- Tap the edit icon (pencil)
- Modify the question or answer text
- Save your changes
Note: You can edit the text content of flashcards, but you cannot delete individual cards from a deck.

Problem: I created a deck but can't find it
Solution: Hi,
If you can't find your deck:
- Check Library: Tap "Library" at the bottom of the screen - all your decks should appear there
- Check Home screen: Some decks appear on the home screen for quick access
- Check workspaces: If you have multiple workspaces, the deck might be in a different one
- Correct account: Make sure you're logged into the same account you used when creating the deck
If the deck still doesn't appear, try signing out and back in to refresh the sync.

recover_deleted_deck

cant_delete_file_mobile
Problem: I can't delete a file/deck on mobile
Solution: Hi,
Here's how to delete a deck in the mobile app:
Open the Library (deck overview)
Find the deck you want to delete in the list
Swipe the deck entry to the left - a red "Delete" button will appear
Tap "Delete" and confirm
Note: Individual PDFs cannot be removed separately. When you delete the deck, the associated file is automatically deleted with it.
